Xiaomi has unveiled the 27-inch Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U gaming monitor. The new product replaces the Redmi Display G Pro 27, one of the most expensive gaming monitors in the manufacturer’s range. Although the new monitor offers a number of improvements over its predecessor, these updates have significantly impacted its cost.

The Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U is based on an IPS matrix with a 4K resolution, support for a refresh rate of 160 Hz, and a response time of 1 ms (GtG). The predecessor offered a refresh rate of 180 Hz. However, the new Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U also supports a refresh rate of 320 Hz at a resolution of 1080p.

The peak brightness of the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U is declared at 1600 cd/m². It is equipped with 1152 local dimming zones of the Mini-LED backlight – 60% more than its predecessor. In addition, the monitor provides 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, 100% coverage of sRGB, supports Dolby Vision HDR and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. Support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro image synchronization technology is also declared.

The monitor is equipped with two 5W speakers, a 3.5mm audio output, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, two HDMI 2.1 ports, as well as USB Type-A 2.0 and USB Type-A 3.0 ports.

The price of its predecessor, the Redmi Display G Pro 27, was 1999 yuan (about $274) at the start of sales. The company priced the new Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U model at 2699 yuan (about $370). The manufacturer has not yet announced whether the new product will be available outside of China. Its predecessor, the Redmi Display G Pro 27, is sold on the global market under the name Monitor G Pro 27i.
