The ultra-thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone, which went on sale on May 30, demonstrated high durability in bending tests conducted by popular tech blogger Zack “JerryRigEverything” Nelson. Despite the case being only 5.8 mm thick and weighing 163 g, the device withstood extreme loads without damage.

During the test, the Galaxy S25 Edge did not deform or break when bending with force applied to the front and back panels. In addition, the case proved to be scratch-resistant even when exposed to sharp objects. The front panel, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, began to scratch only when using a tool with a hardness of level 6 on the Mohs scale, and deeper scratches appeared at level 7. The back panel is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and the case itself is made of titanium, which provides additional strength and resistance to damage.

In a heat resistance test, the Galaxy S25 Edge’s screen withstood a lighter’s flame for 30 seconds without any visible damage or marks. Note that some other smartphones’ screens show damage in similar tests.

Zach Nelson noted that he expected the device to warp or break due to its thin body, but was pleasantly surprised by its durability and reliability. In comparison, the latest iPad Pro failed a similar test and broke.

The Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 2600 nits, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12 GB of RAM and two main cameras: 200 MP and 12 MP. The device supports IP68 water and dust protection and is available in three colors: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Silver and Titanium Jet Black.

The Galaxy S25 Edge’s durability is due to the use of titanium in the body construction and the latest protective glass Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, making it one of the most reliable ultra-thin smartphones on the market. These materials provide high resistance to mechanical damage, while maintaining the elegant design of the device.
