Nvidia has released the GeForce Hotfix Display Driver Version 572.75 update for the Game Ready Driver 572.70 graphics driver, which is designed to fix two specific issues with the latest version of the software. The first is related to the fact that the GPUs of some overclocked versions of the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 video cards refuse to operate at maximum frequency after rebooting the PC. The second issue is related to black screens. Yes, Nvidia still hasn’t fixed it.
Nvidia typically releases new versions of its graphics drivers on a monthly basis. In turn, driver updates (hotfixes) are released promptly and outside of schedule when the main software versions for one reason or another cannot fix a particular problem, such as blue screens of death or black screens, which many RTX graphics card owners have recently encountered. As a rule, these emergency updates are not installed automatically – they must be found, downloaded, and then installed manually.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first attempt by Nvidia to fix black screen issues on its video cards. It began to occur more often for GeForce RTX owners after the release of the first driver with support for the new GeForce RTX 5070 Ti card. After that, the company released the main driver version 572.60. It did not fix the black screen issues. Then the company released an update for this driver, GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 572.65, designed to solve this issue. But this update also failed to cope with this task. Later, the release of the main driver version 572.70 with support for the RTX 5070 video card followed. In the press release for this driver, the company again indicated a fix for the black screen. Yes, the new version of the software also failed to cope with the task.

The latest update GeForce Hotfix Display Driver Version 572.75 has not received the WHQL verification certificate and is not recommended for all users, but only for those who have encountered black screen issues and unstable operation of GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. Otherwise, the best solution is to skip this update and wait for the next official stable version of the Game Ready Driver.
