OnePlus and its parent company Oppo have been embroiled in a protracted patent dispute with Nokia in the past, which resulted in OnePlus and Oppo devices being banned from sale in Germany. After some time, the devices of these companies returned to the market of this country. However, now OnePlus has again found itself embroiled in a similar story – sales of the company’s smartphones have stopped again.

This time the problem is related to patents not from Nokia, but from InterDigital, which has a package of rights to key functions of 5G and other mobile technologies. As a result, the OnePlus online store in Germany has stopped selling smartphones again. However, the company’s other products are still available for purchase. It is currently unknown when OnePlus will be able to sell its smartphones in Germany again.

To clarify the situation, OnePlus released an official statement: “OnePlus places great importance on intellectual property rights and fair access to standard essential patents, which are essential to driving innovation in the industry. We will continue negotiations with InterDigital and want to resolve this issue peacefully. Meanwhile, our commitment in Europe remains unchanged and we will continue to provide superior products and services to our users,” the company said in a statement.
