German carmaker BMW plans to begin implementing AI developed by Chinese startup DeepSeek in new car models destined for the Chinese market starting later this year.

This was announced by the company’s CEO, Oliver Zipse, during the Shanghai Auto Show: “Key advances in artificial intelligence are happening right here today. We are strengthening our AI partnerships to integrate these technologies into our cars for China. Starting later this year, we will begin to integrate DeepSeek AI into new cars for the Chinese market.”
