Asus has brought wood grain textures to its graphics card lineup. The company has unveiled the first GeForce RTX 5000 ProArt graphics cards, all of which feature a “stylish wood grain design.” The quartet of cards “offer USB Type-C support for the first time to enhance creative workflow versatility,” and two of them also feature an M.2 slot.

Asus will release a ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 OC Edition model with an M.2 slot and a USB Type-C port, and a similar version without factory overclocking. In addition, a pair of similar accelerators will be released only with USB Type-C, but without an M.2 slot – one with factory overclocking, and the other without. The advantages of the GeForce RTX 5080 are well known.
Overall, the design of the new ProArt cards is very similar to the redesigned Prime, but with wood grain added in. It’s as if a log were plugged into the PCIe slot instead of a graphics card. The description says that the cards are equipped with a 2.5-slot thick cooling system, but it’s not low-profile. The three-fan design is apparently closer to 300mm in length. In addition, a vapor chamber is used in conjunction with MaxContact technology to increase the surface area for heat dissipation. A special gasket is also used to cool the GPU.
The fact that all four ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 graphics cards come with a USB Type-C port may be useful to some users. Those who choose one of the models with an M.2 slot will be able to take advantage of the PCIe 5.0 standard for more than one drive (many motherboards only have one M.2 slot with PCIe 5.0). In addition, the graphics card’s cooling system will be more than enough to keep any SSD installed in the accelerator at a stable temperature.
