Two days ago, Nvidia released graphics driver version 576.02, which promised to solve the problems with the stability of video cards that have been bothering users for three months. With the new drivers, video cards began to score more points in synthetic benchmarks, but some difficulties could not be eradicated.

Nvidia’s graphics card problems began when the company released the R570 driver branch for the new GeForce RTX 50 series models — some users had to roll back to the older 566.xx version to get RTX HDR working again, for example. RTX 40 and RTX 30 series graphics cards started having issues with G-Sync and frame generation, and even with the release of 576.02, there are still complaints about game crashes, black screens, stuttering, and other anomalies with RTX series graphics cards. There are problems with games such as Monster Hunter Wilds, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Rebirth, Black Myth Wukong, and many others.

On the other hand, there are also mentions of increased performance. And this is also no coincidence: with the release of driver version 576.02, video cards began to score more points in benchmarks – the increase was from 6% to 8% in 3DMark Steel Nomad. The most noticeable changes in performance were shown by Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080, while the flagship RTX 5090 did not have a breakthrough.

The growth of indicators in synthetic tests does not necessarily indicate that video cards have become faster in games and other tasks, but there is an opinion that it is still worth updating to the latest version of drivers. If problems with stability arise, you can try to roll back to the early branches 572.xx or 566.xx, although this will be associated with the loss of access to some functions.
