During December, gamers complained that the inclusion in the games of the HDR mode makes the game graphics of high -contrast and oversaturated. Microsoft confirmed the existence of a problem and admitted that the inclusion of Auto HDR, the Windows functions that expand the color range leads to freezing games. Therefore, Windows 11 updates on a PC with monitors supporting HDR were blocked. Now the company corrected the error and unlocked updates.

But one unlocking was not enough. The fact is that the January Windows 11 Update under the KB5050009 number immediately after its exit caused a lot of problems. Numerous messages about the inoperability of the Bluetooth headphones and devices connected through the external USB DAC have received. Users came across a “disappearance” of a webcam with an error “Camera was not detected”. Switching applications via ALT+TAB could lead to hanging the system. To correct these errors, sometimes there was not enough to remove updates and reinstalled the OS.

Microsoft quite quickly made corrections in the KB5050094 update. It eliminates the above problems and at the same time corrects the incorrect color display when the HDR mode is turned on. The Windows 11 2024 update is available through the Windows update center and is also forcibly installed on suitable uncontrollable systems operating Home and Pro Windows 11 22H2 and 23H2.

Nevertheless, the update is not available for devices with incompatible configurations or software, for example, SAFE Exam Browser and Easy Anti-Chekat.

Also recently, Microsoft removed the restrictions on Windows 11 up to the 24H2 version for computers with Assassin’s Creed games. Previously, users massively complained about malfunctions in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Assassin’s Creed Origins after installing the last system update. After the Ubisoft released, Microsoft removed the lock.
