An animation by artist Refik Anadol, titled “Machine Hallucinations—ISS Dreams—A,” sold for more than expected, achieving the highest bid of $277,200. The work was generated using a dataset of more than 1.2 million images taken from the ISS and space satellites.

American Pindar Van Arman’s “Emerging Faces,” which was billed as another important work at auction, attracted no bids at all. A work by the late American artist Charles Csuri, considered a pioneer of “computer art,” sold for $50,400, below the auction house’s low price. The auction’s total sales were $728,784.
