Earlier this month, CD Projekt Red announced plans to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to the Nintendo Switch 2. Does that mean The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also getting a port to the hybrid console? The Polish studio is keeping its cards close to its chest.

Recall that in 2019, CD Projekt Red, together with Saber Interactive, released The Witcher 3 on Switch. The port, full of technical compromises, but still impressive, was called “impossible” by Digital Foundry specialists.
CDPR lead gameplay designer Filip Downar told Eurogamer that the studio was pleased with the response from players to the Switch version of The Witcher 3 and therefore considered the Switch 2 “the perfect platform for Cyberpunk 2077.”

According to Dovnar, CD Projekt Red found it “incredibly exciting” that Cyberpunk 2077 was included in the Switch 2 launch lineup, with a number of exclusive features announced, including a gyroscope and mouse mode.
«Our team worked hard to make this happen, and for more than seven weeks, mind you! This misconception arose from the fact that the build shown at Nintendo was seven weeks old. Development has been going on for much longer,” Dovnar assured.

As for a potential upgrade of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Switch 2, CDPR is not ready to talk about it yet, as the studio is currently “entirely focused” on Cyberpunk 2077 for the new Nintendo device.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition (with the Phantom Liberty add-on included) will go on sale for Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as the console, that is, on June 5. The cost of the game on the hybrid console will be a full $70.
