Developers from the Czech Warhorse Studios have announced the release of patch 1.2.4 for their open-world medieval action RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which adds the promised hardcore mode to the game.

Let us remind you that the hardcore mode of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 includes ten negative modifiers (at least three must be activated) that complicate the passage, and a number of gameplay restrictions.
In particular, the player does not see his position on the map, there is no fast travel, and the compass becomes useless. You have to navigate only by your own eyesight (by the sun, stars) and conversations with locals.
According to Warhorse senior game designer Karel Kolmann, the new mode was an evolution of the “hardcore” mode from Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The developers were happy with it, but didn’t want to repeat it exactly in the sequel.
«The world starts to feel more real. And the environment too – like when you want to get somewhere and Google Maps is not at hand! The combat is noticeably different. [The enemies] behave more realistically,” warns Kohlmann.
In hardcore mode the game does not prompt when to block in combat
Update 1.2.4 also includes a bald haircut for barbers, a rebalance of herb prices for merchants, and a number of fixes. The full list of changes is available on the game’s website.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released on February 4 on PC (Steam, EGS), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and on March 28 it made it to GOG. The game has already reached 2 million copies sold and is getting ready to receive three paid story add-ons.
