The story of the fan project Project Vice, in which blogger Dark Space decided to recreate the world map of the hotly anticipated crime action movie GTA VI inside Grand Theft Auto V, has had a predictable development.

Let us recall that the Project Vice mod was distributed free of charge in both single-player (GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced) and multiplayer (FiveM) versions. At the same time, Dark Space was mentally prepared for claims from Take-Two Interactive.

Following the publication, YouTube administration, at Take-Two’s request, removed the Dark Space video showing Project Vice for copyright infringement. In response, the blogger decided to stop working on the mod and removed all links to download it.

When discussing the reason for his pursuit, Dark Space suggested that his map was “probably too accurate” and that Take-Two Interactive was simply afraid for the potential sales of GTA VI.

«They must have felt threatened by it because they thought that an interactive version of the map to explore would ruin the surprise and novelty factor of GTA VI when it came out,” Dark Space consoles itself.

According to Dark Space, his map did not threaten GTA VI sales, but rather generated hype around the game and helped fans pass the time until the premiere of the second trailer (the first was released over a year ago).

GTA VI is set to release this fall on PS5, Xbox Series X, and S. The game will take place in the Florida-inspired state of Leonidas, and players will take on the role of criminals Jason and Lucia.
