Traditionally well-informed about Apple’s plans, Mark Gurman is adding the finishing touches to the idea of what new products the company will roll out this fall. For September 10th, Apple, according to him, has scheduled the largest presentation of the year, during which it will present not only the new iPhone, but also the Watch series 10, as well as updated AirPods wireless headphones.
Such a reference to the date will allow Apple to begin sales of the iPhone 16 series by the twentieth of September and receive a positive impact of this event on the company’s revenue for the third quarter, which will end at the end of September. Apple forecasts its third-quarter revenue will grow 5% from last year. The bulk of revenue from iPhone sales will come in the fourth quarter, with analysts expecting it to grow 7% year-on-year to $128.4 billion.
The iPhone 16 family is expected by Bloomberg to feature larger display sizes on Pro models and new camera features, including a dedicated snapshot button. Naturally, a special novelty will be the Artificial Intelligence functions. In all other respects, the iPhone 16 family will not differ significantly from its predecessors.
The Apple Watch Series 10 family will have a larger display, but a thinner body. The AirPods family of wireless headphones will feature a new entry-level model and a more recent mid-range variant this fall. The basic version of the headphones will be updated for the first time since 2019.
For a later debut this fall, according to Gurman, Apple is also preparing new models of Mac computers based on M4 family processors. In the logs provided by testers, at least four models of such laptops have already been spotted. As expected, they are based on relatively modest modifications of the M4 processor. Three Mac models on this list have 10 processing cores, and the youngest is limited to eight. It is assumed that their performance is divided equally into high-speed and economical. The computing cores are accompanied by a proportional number of graphics cores: the older ones have 10 GPUs, the younger ones have 8 GPUs. The amount of RAM varies between 16 and 32 gigabytes.
Ten-core processors combine 4 productive computing cores and six economical ones, in this they repeat the M4 processor used in the iPad Pro. By the end of this year, according to Bloomberg, Apple should introduce a more compact Mac mini, new MacBook Pro and iMac all-in-one PCs based on M4 family processors. Most likely, Apple will begin announcing computers of this generation no earlier than October.
