Google has announced the date for its annual developer conference Google I/O in 2025. The event will take place on May 20 and 21 and will be available to everyone in an online format with a broadcast of keynote speeches and sessions, The Verge reports. As in previous years, there will also be an offline portion, which will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California (USA).

The dates were revealed following the launch of an interactive puzzle that Google traditionally uses to announce the conference. Interestingly, this year’s I/O will take place almost simultaneously with Microsoft’s Build conference, scheduled for May 19-22, which could lead to competition for developer and press attention.
Let’s recall that the last Google I/O conference took place on May 14, 2024 and was full of announcements, including the Gemini artificial intelligence model, the Project Astra AI assistant, which can recognize the surrounding world through a smartphone camera and answer questions. Also then, the Veo AI model was presented, which is capable of generating videos based on text descriptions, and a large-scale update to Google Search with an emphasis on AI.
The 2023 I/O event was also dedicated to AI news, but Google also unveiled its Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 7A devices.
