As promised, on the night of January 13-14, the Polish studio Rebel Wolves, founded by people from CD Projekt Red, held a presentation of the non-linear open-world fantasy role-playing game The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The events of The Blood of Dawnwalker will unfold in Europe in the 14th century. Bloody conflicts and plague are raging throughout the world, and in a forgotten corner of the Carpathian Mountains, vampires have come to power, overthrowing the local feudal lords.

Players will take on the role of a young man named Cohen, who becomes something between a vampire and a human. The hero has 30 days and nights (time will only move during quests) to save his family.

Users will be able to either accept the vampire essence or renounce it (this will affect the gameplay and plot). The mechanics of bloodlust will play an important role, because of which you can inadvertently eat your “best friend.”

They promise gameplay freedom, a “narrative sandbox” without a clear division into main and side quests, a non-linear plot, gray morality, day and night cycles, a dynamic combat system and graphics on Unreal Engine 5.

Cinematic game introduction and gameplay teaser

The Blood of Dawnwalker has been confirmed for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. There is no release date yet, but a gameplay demo is planned for this coming summer. The project is being created with the financial support of the Chinese NetEase Games.

Rebel Wolves is headed by ex-The Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, and the creative director is his younger brother, Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.
