The action-adventure series Legacy of Kain has not seen a release since 2003, but with the start of the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 (SDCC 2024) festival in San Diego, America, fans of the franchise have new hope.
Forum user ResetEra under the pseudonym Mama Robotnik posted photos from SDCC 2024, which show the official statue of heroes from Legacy of Kain from Dark Horse Comics and Crystal Dynamics.
A notable feature of the figure is its base, which features the logo of the unannounced Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered, a re-release of both Soul Reavers.
Crystal Dynamics has not yet commented on the discovery of Mama Robotnik, unlike Dark Horse Comics vice president of product development and sales Randy Lahrman.
In a statement to GameSpot, Larman said that the Legacy of Kain statue will be released in August, with details to be shared later. The director did not mention the remasters – moreover, their logo was soon removed from under the figure.
Soul Reaver is now well known: Crystal Dynamics, the owner of the rights to the franchise, and Bit Bot Media recently announced the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise comic book, which serves as the official prequel to the dilogy.
The original Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was released in 1999 on PC and PS1, and Soul Reaver 2 was released in 2001 on PC and PS2. The first part will turn 25 years old on August 16 – perhaps the announcement of remasters will be timed to coincide with the memorable date.
