Japanese publisher and developer Capcom continues to boast about the success of the Resident Evil 4 remake – the reimagining of the cult 2005 action game has reached a new sales peak.
Let’s remember that the last time the Japanese publisher updated data on the results of Resident Evil 4 was in mid-summer, along with its bestseller list – on June 30, the game had 7.6 million copies.
As it became known, by now the indicator has reached a beautiful value. Total sales of the Resident Evil 4 remake worldwide have now exceeded 8 million copies.
The announcement of the new achievement of Capcom’s reimagining of Resident Evil 4 was accompanied by a festive illustration (see image above), in which the heroes of the game are juxtaposed with references to its events.
«To all of you, more than 8 million agents, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” shared the developers of the Resident Evil 4 remake from the Capcom Dev 1 team. Words of gratitude can also be seen in the illustration.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 was released on March 24, 2023 on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and on December 20 it reached the iPhone 15 Pro, iPad and Mac. After release, the game received the Mercenaries mode, the Separate Ways add-on, and a VR mode.
Capcom is currently working on the next numbered game in the series. It is unclear when it will be presented, but recently the Metacritic aggregator website opened a page for Resident Evil 9.
