The post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl from the developers from the GSC Game World studio is on its way to release and has already proven to be a bestseller.
GSC Game World announced that just two days after its release, total worldwide sales of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has exceeded one million copies on all target platforms.
It is worth noting that since mid-2021 S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was available for pre-order on digital platforms, so it is likely that at least part of the mentioned value was realized before release.
«It’s no surprise that the Zone seems to be getting a little more crowded. A million copies have been sold, and many more stalkers have joined the hunt for the artifact through Game Pass,” the developers added.
The authors also thanked the players: “This is just the beginning of our unforgettable adventure. The heart of Chernobyl shines brighter with each of us. With deep recognition, like the network of X laboratories, we want to say: thank you, stalkers!”
Events S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 takes place 10 years after Call of Pripyat. Players in the role of the lone stalker Skif will have to navigate their way through the Zone to find the “heart of Chernobyl” and determine their fate.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. The game suffers from a large number of technical problems – the developers are aware of them and are aimed at eliminating them.
