Founded by people from CD Projekt Red, the Polish studio Rebel Wolves, which is currently developing the non-linear fantasy role-playing game Dawnwalker, has secured the support of the publisher.
As it became known, Bandai Namco will be the international publisher of Dawnwalker. She will help Rebel Wolves release the game on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S in both digital and retail versions.
Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco did not specify the release date for Dawnwalker, but called for news about the project in the “coming months.” The studio’s microblog clarifies that we are talking about the period until the end of 2024.
According to Rebel Wolves publishing head Tomasz Tinc, Bandai Namco, which is known for its love of the role-playing genre and its willingness to work with new franchises, was “a perfect fit for our wolf pack.”
Alberto Gonzalez, vice president of business development for Bandai Namco Europe, added that the company is inspired by the world created by Rebel Wolves and is ready to present its game to the whole world.
Dawnwalker is positioned as an AAA project in a medieval fantasy setting. They promise a “narrative sandbox”, content for several tens of hours and graphics on Unreal Engine 5. By January 2024, the game moved to the alpha stage.
Rebel Wolves is headed by ex-The Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, and the creative director is his younger brother, Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.
