Razer has added a Snap Tap cheat feature to all of its modern keyboards and laptops

Razer, Wooting, Asus and SteelSeries are among the manufacturers that have implemented support for a feature in their gaming keyboards that allows you to quickly change the direction of movement (counter-strafe) without releasing a key that is already held down. Razer has gone ahead and announced support for this feature in its keyboards and laptops released over the past few years.

The company calls the mentioned function Snap Tap. The description on Razer’s website says the feature “improves responsiveness by prioritizing the last press between two selected keys, without requiring you to release the previous key.” Due to this, the user can almost instantly change the direction of movement, which is especially important in shooters. Snap Tap will now be supported on all Razer keyboards and laptops running Synapse 4 software.

Razer noted that Snap Tap may not work equally well on all of the company’s laptops and keyboards. The feature works best on keyboards equipped with Hall effect switches or other switches that respond fairly quickly. Snap Tap performs worse on keyboards that require a full press to activate the switch.

Note that the Snap Tap function is considered cheating by many representatives of the gaming world, which is why its use can lead to a ban. In particular, Valve adheres to this opinion and does not allow Counter-Strike 2 players to use this function.
