As expected, streaming giant Netflix officially announced the release date of the animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep as part of the online festival Geeked Week 2024.
Let us remind you that The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was presented last fall and was promised to be released at the end of 2024, but sources of the Redanian Intelligence portal reported the day before that the film would be delayed until February 11, 2025.
As it became known, The Witcher: Call of the Deep will actually be released only on February 11, 2025. Netflix did not name the reason for the delay, but accompanied the announcement with an exclusive excerpt from the film.
A two-minute fragment of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was presented in a three-minute video by Doug Cockle, the voice of the witcher Geralt of Rivia in the film and the English version of The Witcher games from CD Projekt Red.
The excerpt shows a conversation between Geralt and the bard Dandelion over a meal around a fire. The musician tries to prove to the witcher that he is not as impenetrable as he seems at first glance.
The comments praised the cast – Buttercup is voiced by Joey Batey, who plays the role in the Netflix series – and Cockle’s performance in particular. “Damn it. I wanted to play through The Witcher 3 again,” admitted ThaYoungChad.
In the story, Geralt is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a coastal village, and as a result, the White Wolf finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between ordinary residents and fish people, which Cockle especially focuses on in the video.
