Digital distribution service GOG has announced the release date of the original version of the horror game Resident Evil 2, released back in 1998. The relevant information appeared on the official microblog of the site.
Resident Evil 2 will go on sale on August 27; GOG is in no hurry to release other details. Most likely, the original version of the classic game will receive a set of technical fixes and improvements, similar to the first part released at the end of June.
The GOG version of Resident Evil, we remind you, has gained compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11, support for current versions of DirectX, support for modern controllers and many important technical improvements (vertical synchronization, anti-aliasing, gamma adjustment, and so on).
Resident Evil 2 already has its own page on the GOG store, but the game can also be purchased as part of the Resident Evil Bundle with the classic horror trilogy for $25. Until the end of this year, the updated Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will go on sale.
