Google will allow you to transfer video calls from your smartphone to nearby Android devices

This week, Google began rolling out two new features aimed at expanding the experience available on synced user Android devices. We are talking about the ability to transfer video calls to other nearby smartphones and tablets based on Android, as well as the function of automatically connecting synchronized devices based on Android and Chrome OS to one access point on the user’s smartphone.

Google said in a statement that the video calling feature allows you to switch calls “from one of your devices to another with the same Google account.” For example, if a user wants to transfer a video call to another device, the app will display a list of nearby Android devices available for transfer. At the moment, this innovation only works in the Google Meet app, but in the future it is likely to become more widespread.

Google said in a statement that the Internet sharing feature allows you to “automatically share hotspot access with your devices.” This feature works on Chromebooks and Android devices with the same Google account. To ensure automatic connection to one access point, you will also need to activate the Bluetooth and automatic location option on your devices. This feature does not work on Samsung devices as the manufacturer offers a similar tool developed in-house.

The mentioned innovations are available on devices with Android 11 and later versions of the software platform on which Google services version 24.28.34 and higher are installed. It is also noted that both new features are in beta testing, so their mass distribution will be gradual, and it will take some time before they become available to everyone.
