Asus has announced the ExpertBook P5, a thin work laptop that will offer the latest Intel Lunar Lake processors. The manufacturer did not give an exact release date for the new product, but it is expected that it will appear on store shelves in the second half of this year along with the release of new Intel processors.
Powered by Core Ultra 200V (Lunar Lake) chips, the Asus ExpertBook P5 promises impressive AI computing capabilities. The updated neural engine (NPU) included in the CPU will provide performance in AI tasks above 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second), and the overall performance of laptops, taking into account the capabilities of the CPU and GPU, will be more than 100 TOPS.
The neural engine of Lunar Lake processors is designed for energy-efficient execution of AI tasks, and additional power will be provided by the XMX cores of the integrated graphics of Lunar Lake processors on the new Xe2 (Battlemage) graphics architecture. Overall, ExpertBook P5’s level of AI performance fully meets Microsoft’s requirements for PCs and laptops that claim to meet Copilot Plus PC standards.
ExpertBook P5 will offer a 14-inch anti-glare display that supports 2.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The new product will offer up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8333 RAM, as well as up to two PCIe 4.0 SSDs with a total capacity of up to 3 TB. In addition, ExpertBook P5 will provide support for Wi-Fi 7.
ExpertBook P5 weighs only 1.3 kg. The new product will be assembled in an all-aluminum case. The laptop screen will be able to open 180 degrees. The manufacturer also points out that the laptop has innovative cooling technology that optimizes temperature management regardless of whether the laptop is open or closed.
ExpertBook P5 will run the Windows 11 operating system and use a commercial-grade security BIOS that meets NIST-155 standards. In addition, the laptop will offer various options for biometric login systems.
