ZTE has introduced the Nubia Flip 2 clamshell smartphone in Japan, which differs from its predecessor in an improved camera, water and dust protection, and a new MediaTek chipset.
Like the Nubia Flip, the diagonal of the flexible AMOLED display of the new smartphone is 6.9 inches, the resolution is Full HD+. A hole-punch at the top of the display houses a 32-megapixel front-facing camera (on the Flip 2, it replaces the 16-megapixel camera on its predecessor). Two more cameras – a 50-megapixel main one and a 2-megapixel depth sensor – are located on the rear panel.
Unlike the round external screen of the previous model, Nubia Flip 2 has a rectangular screen on the external panel with a diagonal of 3 inches and a resolution of 682 × 422 pixels. This screen displays notifications and widgets, and allows you to answer calls and perform other tasks.
Nubia Flip 2 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset, adapted for use in smartphones with dual displays. The internal memory of the device is 128 GB, RAM is 6 GB. Control is carried out using the Android 14 operating system.
The fingerprint scanner is built into the side power button. The 4300 mAh battery supports the PD 3.0 charging standard. A full charge from 0 to 100% takes 55 minutes. The smartphone has IPX2 waterproof rating (protection against water droplets) and IP4X dust protection.
The Nubia Flip 2 is said to support a host of AI features, including a custom AI assistant that is integrated with local apps in Japan such as Line.
The Nubia Flip 2 flip smartphone will be available in black, white and blue colors. The new product will go on sale on Yahoo! Mobile on January 23rd for 64,080 yen (about $410).
