Sony has announced the successor to its WF-C700N wireless headphones. The new model, the WF-C710N, still doesn’t have a catchy name, but it does feature an improved active noise cancellation system and a number of features that were previously only available in the brand’s more expensive models.

The main drawback of the WF-C700N was its not very effective active noise cancellation system, which only dealt with low-frequency noise. In the new model, the manufacturer has improved both noise cancellation and transparency mode by using two microphones. However, it is unlikely that Sony has used a specialized noise cancellation processor, which is used in its premium headphones.
The Sony WF-C700N provided up to 7.5 hours of battery life with noise cancellation turned on and up to 15 hours with the charging case, which only allowed the headphones to be fully charged once. In the WF-C710N, the battery life has increased to 8.5 hours, and up to 30 hours with the case. According to the manufacturer, with noise cancellation turned off, the headphones can work for up to 40 hours. Fast charging has also been improved: now 5 minutes in the case provides a full hour of work, whereas previously it took 10 minutes.
Among the innovations that migrated to the WF-C710N from more expensive models, it is worth noting the appearance of a sensor that automatically pauses playback if the user removes the headphones from the ears. Sony also abandoned physical buttons, replacing them with customizable touch buttons. With their help, you can control playback, answer calls, adjust the volume and perform other actions.
The headphones are made in a case with protection of internal components according to the IPX4 standard. Simultaneous connection to two devices is supported. The new product is available in black, white, pink and transparent blue colors.
