Nvidia boasted that Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) support is now available in 769 games and apps, proving its superiority over competing scaling technologies from AMD and Intel. DLSS support was recently added to six more games, including the multiplayer survival game RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

Since its debut with the GeForce RTX 20-series graphics cards in 2018, DLSS has evolved from a simple AI upscaling tool into a suite of different technologies. The current version, DLSS 4, includes Multi-Frame Generation (MFG) and uses “transformer” AI models that deliver sharper images and smoother frame rates in games compared to previous DLSS convolutional neural network-based AI models. The benefits of frame generation, ray reconstruction, and AI anti-aliasing are available to owners of RTX 40- and 50-series graphics cards.

Among the six new games that Nvidia announced on its official blog, Steel Seed from developer Storm in a Teacup is the first to receive DLSS 4 MFG support. RuneScape: Dragonwilds, The Talos Principle: Reawakened, and Tempest Rising have added support for the DLSS 3 frame generator and Super Resolution support. Indie releases Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Commandos: Origins have gained support for Super Resolution as part of DLSS 2.

The ability to manually force the latest DLSS Override models via the Nvidia App (Graphics → Software Settings) in games that do not yet support the new DLSS features natively provides an additional benefit to Nvidia users. FSR 4.0 also brings Override to games that support FSR 3.1, but this feature is currently only available in a limited number of titles.
