Nothing has quietly unveiled the CMF Buds 2 earphones. The CMF Buds 2’s signature feature is the Smart Dial, which is built into the charging case. By default, it controls volume and playback, but users can change its settings in the Nothing X app to control noise cancellation, voice assistant, and more. The CMF Buds 2 can be connected to two devices at once.

The CMF Buds 2 headphones are equipped with an 11 mm PMI (polymethacrylimide) driver with support for Ultra Bass 2.0 technology. The Bluetooth 5.4 wireless protocol provides simultaneous connection to two devices. CMF Buds 2 are compatible with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair standards.
CMF Buds 2 are equipped with an intelligent hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) system with a level of up to 48 dB, which is 6 dB higher than the previous version. ANC processes a wide range of frequencies up to 5200 Hz. Each earbud is equipped with three high-quality microphones with support for Spatial Audio and Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind-Noise Reduction 3.0 technologies, which provide a clear and natural voice of the interlocutor even in conditions of increased noise and strong wind.
The battery capacity of the headphones is 53 mAh, the charging case is 460 mAh. The battery life is up to 13.5 hours with noise cancellation off and 7.5 hours with it on. With the charging case, the maximum operating time increases to 55 hours with noise cancellation off and up to 26 hours with it on. Fast charging via the USB Type-C port for 10 minutes provides up to 7.5 hours of playback.
Enabling the dedicated gaming mode automatically activates the low latency mode when paired with CMF or Nothing phones, reducing latency by an average of 50–100 ms. The headphones support AAC and SBC codecs, are compatible with Android 6.0 and above, iOS 13 and above. Integration with the ChatGPT chatbot is possible via the Nothing X app.
The earphones are protected from dust and water according to the IP55 standard, and the case is IPX2. The dimensions of the earphones are 33.4 × 20.6 × 22.8 mm, weight – 4.9 g. The charging case measures 53.3 × 53.3 × 23 mm and weighs 41.5 g. CMF Buds 2 are available in dark gray, light green and orange colors and are priced by the manufacturer at $ 59.
The Buds 2a and Buds 2 Plus earphones are scheduled to launch on April 28.
