The unique AI Pin gadget was presented in November 2023 and went on sale in April 2024. The device was positioned as a replacement for a smartphone and was noticeably different from it: instead of a traditional display, a projection screen was used, control was carried out by voice commands, and artificial intelligence played a key role in the interface. Negative reviews began to arrive almost immediately after the AI Pin entered the market, and a month later the manufacturer was thinking about selling its assets. Their buyer was HP, which decided to turn off the device’s servers on February 28.
Considering that the Humane AI Pin cost $700, many owners of the device were extremely unhappy, since the manufacturer did not provide for an autonomous mode of operation. However, at the last moment, a real miracle happened: one of the Humane employees gave the community encryption codes that allowed access to the software part of the device. Now all the materials necessary to restore the AI Pin’s functionality are available on a separate resource. You will have to make some effort: enter a couple of lines of program code and purchase additional equipment worth about $25. But this is still better than throwing away $700 and forgetting about the original device, disabled by someone’s decision.
