Colorful has unveiled the CVN X870 Ark Frozen motherboard for AMD Ryzen 9000 processors. According to the manufacturer, the board’s design is inspired by the appearance of aircraft carriers.

The CVN X870 Ark Frozen uses a 17-phase VRM power subsystem with a 14 + 2 + 1 phase scheme (DrMOS 80 A). The new product is equipped with four DIMM slots for DDR5 with support for up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory with a speed of up to 8200 MT/s through overclocking – modules with a capacity of up to 48 GB are supported. It also received one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot (with a quick-release mechanism), PCIe 4.0 x16 (x4), and PCIe 3.0 x1.

The board has three M.2 connectors: two PCIe 5.0 standards and one PCIe 4.0. The equipment also includes four SATA III ports (6 Gbps). The set of internal connectors on the board consists of one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and four USB 2.0. The rear panel of the new product has one USB4 (Type-C), one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and two USB 2.0 ports.

The CVN X870 Ark Frozen board is equipped with a Realtek RTL8126-CG controller with support for 5G and Wi-Fi 7. There is also support for Bluetooth 5.4. The equipment also includes a 7.1-channel Realtek audio codec.
