The primary source of information was the Chinese portal Benchlife.info, which reported that AMD announced high sales at the Advancing AI event in Beijing.
Today, AMD has denied this information, and the Chinese source has removed the false information. The company clarified that high demand for Radeon RX 9000 and Ryzen 9000X3D processors was indeed discussed during the event, but the specific figure of 200,000 units was not mentioned.
AMD did not specify the actual sales volumes of the new generation of video cards. However, it can be assumed that since the company decided to refute rumors about 200 thousand accelerators sold, the actual sales were significantly lower.
It is worth noting that the demand for the new Radeon RX 9000 products was indeed high. AMD managed to create competitive video cards that offer excellent performance at a more affordable price than Nvidia analogues.
