$25,000 Electric Pickup Truck Jeff Bezos Helps Build Shows Up in Spy Shot

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos can certainly afford to finance not only his own aerospace company, but also a number of startups. One of them is believed to be the American Slate Auto, which is designing a $25,000 electric pickup truck. The car was recently accidentally revealed to the public in a spy photo.

The ubiquity of the camera-equipped eye of the beholder these days allowed one Reddit participant to capture a gray pickup truck with a single-row cab of an unknown make being towed in south Los Angeles. Another witness to the procedure of loading it from a container onto a tow truck noted that he did not hear the sound of the internal combustion engine running during the entire stage of loading the pickup onto the platform. This suggests that the vehicle is moving almost silently on electric traction.

Moreover, the Slate Auto startup is creating electric pickups, which, with a base price of about $25,000, should offer wide customization options due to branded options. Some see a kinship with Land Rover or Ford models in the pickup design, but in reality, the chief designer of Slate Auto managed to work at the Rivian startup, and therefore a fairly simple set of expressive means allows us to talk about the commonality of the exterior of this pickup with the products of another American startup. The bizarre forms of the Tesla Cybertruck have already pushed away American buyers who love pickups as such, so competing manufacturers are trying to rely on the classic outlines of such machines.
