Following the release of the gigantic update 1.2, developers from the GSC Game World studio reported an expansion of the audience of their post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Let’s remember that despite being available via Game Pass, just two days after its release, global sales of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl exceeded one million copies.
As it became known, the audience of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has reached 6 million people by now. The indicator includes not only sales, but also stalkers who joined the hunt for the artifact through Game Pass.

«Never before has the Zone been so noisy! At rest stops, stalkers sing songs in unison to guitar chords, and ringing laughter can be heard from everywhere: from the bar in Zalesye to Terikon and beyond,” the developers suggest imagining.
The authors also thanked the players: “Six million! Such a scale is difficult to comprehend, but thanks to you it became a reality. We are incredibly grateful and proud that each of you left your mark on the Zone.”

Events S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 takes place 10 years after Call of Pripyat. Players in the role of the lone stalker Skif will have to navigate their way through the Zone to find the “heart of Chernobyl” and determine their fate.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20, 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. The developers intend to continue improving the game, but the promised plan for further development has not yet been presented.
