According to Henderson’s sources, who spoke to the insider at the GDC 2025 game developers conference, the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on sale throughout June and will have a three-phase game supply plan.
The first phase will be in June and will mostly feature games from Nintendo’s internal studios. The second phase will feature third-party titles and is expected in October-November, with the third wave planned for the holiday season.

Henderson also added that select journalists and bloggers will be able to try out the Nintendo Switch 2 and launch titles for a few hours at a private event next week.
The full presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 will take place on April 2 as part of a special edition of the Nintendo Direct broadcast. The show is expected to reveal technical details of the console, an announcement of its price and release date.

There will reportedly be another Nintendo Direct broadcast (before the end of this week) ahead of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 reveal, but its content is unknown.
The official launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected in 2025. The console will be compatible with Switch games, although some titles may not be fully or partially supported by the new device. The console will also have exclusives.
