Let us recall that rumors about the announcement of remasters of the Greek saga God of War for the 20th anniversary of the series were not confirmed, however, according to Grubb, Santa Monica Studio will not leave fans empty-handed in 2025.
According to Grubb, citing his sources, a spin-off from the main God of War series is allegedly still in the works for a 2025 release, which will take place in Greece rather than Scandinavia.
The project is positioned as a “side story” and does not claim to be a full-fledged next part of the franchise. In the comments, Grubb also urged fans not to overestimate their expectations regarding the game.
The fact that the God of War franchise could return to Greece was previously reported by trusted insider Tom Henderson. According to him, the game will show a younger Kratos and his relationship with his father.
In early 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment canceled two unannounced games-as-a-service from internal studios, including Bluepoint Games’ God of War remake of Demon’s Souls.
