The PC Gamer portal noted that CD Projekt management mentioned the release dates of The Witcher 4 as part of a fresh financial report for the 2024 calendar year.
«“While we don’t plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026, we are still committed to meeting the financial target [of our shareholder incentive program],” said CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz.
The topic of the release dates for The Witcher 4 was returned to during the investor questions session. Nelyubovich answered again, but he did not add any new information to the one quoted above.
«”We are not going to announce a launch date for the game at this time. All we can do now is give investors a clearer understanding that the game will not be released during the first target period of the incentive program, which ends on December 31, 2026,” Nelyubovich explained.
The Witcher 4 doesn’t have any target platforms yet, but it entered active production last fall. The story follows Ciri as she passes the Trial of the Grasses and prepares to become a true witcher.
They promise to reflect the Eastern European mentality, without deviating from the spirit of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, and also to provide support for the latest Nvidia RTX technologies at release. The game is being created on Unreal Engine 5.
