Microsoft is holding a sale ahead of the closing of the Xbox 360 store and marketplace on July 29, 2024. Many fans consider the Xbox 360 to be the most successful gaming console of all time. However, the Xbox 360 Store and Xbox 360 Marketplace will be closing soon.
For all console fans, the company has updated the free dynamic marketplace background, inspired by the console’s user interface. It was an excellent addition to the “Original” dynamic background released by the company back in 2021. Xbox showed off its latest dynamic background in a post on social media platform X, saying that Xbox Series X and S owners can “enjoy sweet nostalgia” through the new dynamic background of the Xbox 360 Blades.
The sale offers a wide selection of games that can be purchased at prices as low as $1 per game. For example, Resident Evil 4 costs $1.99, Strider costs $1.49, The Evil Within costs $2.99, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory costs $2.99, and Dead Island costs $0.74. It might be worth considering purchasing some of these classics before the store closes for good.
This attempt to return to the glory days of the Xbox 360 is a good step for the brand after a barrage of criticism due to the increase in prices for the Game Pass service, as well as the general difficulties the company has faced in the current generation of consoles.
In February 2023, Microsoft has already significantly reduced the assortment of the Xbox 360 Marketplace digital store. Then Microsoft announced the imminent closure of the Xbos 360 Marketplace, but then took back its words.
