Let us remind you that Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game was expected to be released in the fall of 2024, but the developers recently announced the postponement of the premiere to early 2025.

As it became known, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game will be released on March 25, 2025 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and Netflix Games. The announcement was accompanied by a short trailer.

The events of Tales of the Shire will unfold in the town of Bywater, which has not yet received the status of a village, on the territory of the Shire. Players will create their own hobbit, explore and decorate this “idyllic corner of Middle-earth.”

The main plot will be driven by the development of relations with the residents of Bywater. Players will be able to equip and expand their hole, invite guests to their home and cook for them, taking into account their preferences, freshness and taste of the products.

Songbirds will guide players towards their goal

Timed to coincide with Hobbit Day, the 19-minute presentation includes a lot of new Tales of the Shire gameplay. Following the show, journalists posted previews, and IGN published the first 16 minutes of the game.

According to PC Gamer and GamesRadar, Tales of the Shire lacks charm and mechanical depth. The transfer should allow the team to improve the situation, but for now the project is seen as “another nail in the coffin” of Lord of the Rings games.
