With the release of Black Myth: Wukong on Steam, not only the rating of games with the maximum peak online has changed, but also the leader of the list of the most desired projects among users has changed.

In recent months, Black Myth: Wukong has had no equal in terms of the number of additions to wishlists, but with the release, Game Science left the rating, giving way to its regular – the action platformer Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The sequel to the indie hit Hollow Knight from the Australian Team Cherry was announced more than five years ago and has already managed to top the list of the most desired games on Steam. According to GamesRadar, the last time this happened was in 2021.

Since then, the number one spot in the ranking has gone to a variety of games, including The Day Before, Hogwarts Legacy, Sons of the Forest, Starfield, The Finals, Manor Lords, Hades 2 and Black Myth: Wukong.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s first place in the ranking of the most desirable games on Steam is not the greatest consolation for news-starved fans who recently received another blow from fate.

Late last week, host and producer Geoff Keighley announced that Hollow Knight: Silksong, following June’s Summer Game Fest, would skip gamescom 2024 (including its opening).

Hollow Knight: Silksong is being created for PC (Steam, GOG), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and Game Pass. The release was expected in the first half of 2023, but the game was postponed – work on it, however, is still underway.
