New details about Radeon RX 9070 video cards will appear only on January 24, AMD partner said

Sometimes new product announcements don’t go according to plan, and AMD’s recent presentation is an example of this. The company did not have time to talk about the Radeon RX 9070 series video cards based on the new generation RDNA 4 architecture, so now we are learning important information about them from AMD’s partners, and not from itself. XFX shared the latest data.

As part of its presentation, AMD did not even say when the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 cards will be available for sale and how much they will cost. The company only indicated that new items should be expected on store shelves in the first quarter of this year. It is very likely that such a crumpled announcement was due to the fact that AMD simply did not have enough time allotted for this presentation. Let us remind you that it was held at the CES 2025 exhibition site, which officially opened its doors on January 7.

Yesterday, Asus confirmed that the Radeon RX 9070 series of video cards will offer 16 GB of GDDR6 video memory. AMD itself has not yet spoken about this. In principle, she did not report any technical characteristics of the new products. Thanks to Asus, we also learned about new packaging for a custom version of the Radeon RX 9070. Images of the card confirm that it will receive two 8-pin power connectors, although it is clear that Asus left three spaces on the circuit board for such connectors. The older version will receive three connectors, which indicates a significant difference in the power consumption of the two models.

As for the XFX company, it announced on its Instagram✴ that fresh details about the new generation Radeon video cards should be expected on January 24. Whether AMD is going to release cards on this day or we are only talking about partners showing their solutions based on the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 is unknown. It is noteworthy that XFX, using a hashtag, also confirmed that one of the new products uses a Navi 48 graphics processor. AMD has not yet confirmed this information either.

XFX itself has not yet officially shown its Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 variants. However, the design of the new products flashed on an AMD presentation slide. In the image above, the card from XFX is marked with a circle.
