Asus is preparing to release a total of 24 variants of GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 video cards. The new products will be presented as part of the manufacturer’s already well-known proprietary series ROG Strix, Prime and TUF, as well as in a completely new version of Astral.

The ROG Astral series will become the manufacturer’s flagship series. Cards in this series will be offered with both air and liquid cooling systems. In this case, the air cooling system includes the use of four fans: three are located on the front side of the card, and one is on the back.
ROG Astral cooling systems bring back Asus’ patented vapor chamber technology with milled tracks. This design allows radiators to be integrated directly into the surface of the camera without flat edges.
In air-cooled versions, ROG Astral cards will be four expansion slots thick. The new cooling system will provide up to 20% more efficient cooling compared to cooling systems using three fans. As part of the ROG Astral series, only the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 models will be released.
ROG Astral Liquid Cooled (LC) versions are equipped with a maintenance-free liquid cooling system with a massive 360 mm external radiator. The company claims that this solution provides 30% more efficient cooling compared to air.
Both options (air-cooled and LCS) involve the use of the same PCB, as the manufacturer mentions having an 80-amp power system design for both. However, the cards are designed for different audiences of enthusiasts.
The liquid-cooled model also includes a full cooling plate that draws heat away from the GPU and memory chips.
As part of the ROG Strix series, only the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will be released. This suggests that the Astral design has effectively replaced the Strix in the ultra-high-end segment. Likewise, the RTX 5090 will not be available in the Prime series. In turn, the TUF series will cover the entire segment of GeForce RTX 50 series video cards.
One of the notable features of the GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards is the use of phase change thermal pads for the GPU. The same technology will be used in the Radeon RX 9070 series video cards from AMD.
Asus has not yet disclosed the technical characteristics of the new products presented and has not announced their prices.
