AMD suddenly introduced a six-core Ryzen 5 9600 processor with a frequency of up to 5.2 GHz

AMD quietly introduced another model of a desktop processor from the Ryzen 9000 series based on the Zen 5 architecture. We are talking about the Ryzen 5 9600 without the prefix “X” in the name. The chip kept the TDP at 65W, the same as the Ryzen 5 9600X. It is very likely that at first the new product will only be found in ready-made PCs.

On its official website, AMD announces the “global” release of the Ryzen 5 9600. The processor offers six processing cores with support for 12 virtual threads, just like the Ryzen 5 9600X model. The new product is distinguished from the “X” version by a maximum clock frequency of 5.2 GHz – this is 200 MHz lower than that of the Ryzen 5 9600X. The processor has 6 MB of L2 cache and 32 MB of L3 cache.

Processor marking: 100-100000718BOX. As VideoCardz writes, the new product has not yet been found at any of the well-known retailers. It is unknown when the chip will go on sale. The price of the processor also remains a mystery. The Ryzen 5 9600X is currently offered for $249, which is $30 cheaper than its original launch price last August. The new Ryzen 5 9600 will likely be offered at a lower price, perhaps around $200.

It should be added that AMD’s product range includes a series of Ryzen 8000G processors in the same price range, equipped with very powerful integrated graphics. However, these chips are not intended for use in high-performance gaming systems equipped with discrete graphics. Therefore, the same Ryzen 5 9600 should be much better suited for these purposes.
