HP unveiled the ZBook Ultra G1a 14 mobile workstation at CES 2025. This ultra-thin laptop is designed to handle the most demanding workloads, including artificial intelligence (AI), 3D modeling and graphics projects. The developers emphasize that the device “opens up endless possibilities for professionals thanks to its high performance, compact design and energy efficiency.”

The new product is equipped with AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO family processors, including the flagship AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 with 16 cores and 32 threads, as well as powerful integrated Radeon 8060S graphics with 40 computing units. This workstation supports up to 128 GB of RAM with a unified architecture, allowing you to simultaneously work with 3D models and render, which was previously almost impossible on laptops. The workstation comes with Windows 11 Pro operating system and supports other OSes such as various Linux distributions including Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.

Users can dedicate up to 96 GB of RAM exclusively to the GPU, providing powerful performance for graphics and local large language models (LLMs). Additionally, the built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with up to 50 TOPS speeds up AI-related tasks.

One of the key features of the device is its compactness – it is the thinnest laptop in the ZBook line. The ZBook Ultra G1a weighs just 1.5 kg and has a body thickness of 1.85 cm (31.22 x 21.55 x 1.85 cm), making it convenient for working outside the office. At the same time, high autonomy is maintained thanks to the increased battery capacity (74.5 Wh) and fast charging technology, which allows you to restore 50% of the charge in just 30 minutes, and HP Power Manager software allows you to monitor the battery status and configure charging parameters.

HP also took care of eye health. For comfortable work with graphics and large amounts of data, several display options are offered, including an OLED panel with a resolution of 2.8K (2880 × 1800 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The screen is Eyesafe certified, minimizing exposure to blue light and reducing eye strain during prolonged use.

The laptop is equipped with fast NVMe memory up to 4 TB, eliminating the need for external storage. The HP Vaporforce Thermals cooling system effectively dissipates heat to prevent overheating even under the highest loads, while HP Smart Sense technology optimizes heat and power management based on user tasks.

On the left side of the device there is one USB Type-C port with a data transfer speed of 10 Gbps, one headphone and microphone combo jack, one Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) with a speed of 40 Gbps. On the right side there is one USB Type-A with speeds of 10 Gbps and fast charging, one slot for a security lock and one Thunderbolt 4 with speeds of 40 Gbps.

As for sound, the Poly Studio audio system with four stereo speakers and two microphones is responsible for its quality, for example for conference calls, and Poly Camera Pro technology using NPU helps optimize video calls with automatic framing and background blur. The ZBook Ultra G1a 14 also features HP AI Companion, a suite of AI tools that help improve performance in demanding tasks.

The device is protected by a suite of HP Wolf Security solutions, which provides hardware protection against modern threats at the BIOS, operating system and application levels. Particular attention is also paid to environmental aspects. The ZBook Ultra G1a is EPEAT Gold certified and comes in 100% eco-friendly packaging.

The HP ZBook Ultra G1a will go on sale in the spring of 2025, but the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the price of the device.
