AMD held a big presentation before the official opening of CES 2025, where it introduced several new products. Among them were the new Ryzen 9000HX (Fire Range) mobile processors for powerful gaming laptops.
The new series of mobile processors Ryzen 9000HX (Fire Range) includes three chips: the flagship 16-core and 32-thread Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, 16-core and 32-thread Ryzen 9 9955HX and 12-core and 24-thread Ryzen 9 9855HX.
The Ryzen 9000HX series chips are essentially mobile versions of the desktop Ryzen 9000. The flagship model Ryzen 9 9955HX3D stands out from the other two models presented by the presence of additional 3D V-Cache memory, which makes it similar to the desktop Ryzen 9000X3D chips. The mobile new product has the same number of cores as the flagship Ryzen 9950X3D, but its frequency reaches 5.4 GHz, while the desktop version has 5.6 GHz. The total amount of processor cache is 144 MB, of which 128 MB is L3 cache.
The Ryzen 9 9955HX operates at a frequency of up to 5.4 GHz and is equipped with 80 MB of cache memory (64 MB of L3 cache), while the Ryzen 9 9955HX, in turn, operates at a frequency of up to 5.2 GHz and has 76 MB of cache memory (64 MB L3 cache).
The company did not report the performance of the new chips. AMD noted that Ryzen 9000HX processors will be released in the first half of 2025. The manufacturer did not provide more detailed information.
