Acer introduced a huge portable console Nitro Blaze 11 and a smaller console Nitro Blaze 8

Acer has officially introduced two portable gaming consoles – Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11. Both new products received AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS Hawk Point series processors based on Zen 4 architecture.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 8 game console model is made in the classic candy bar form factor. The device is equipped with an 8.8-inch IPS touch screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, a brightness of 500 cd/m2 and 97 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

The new product is based on an eight-core and 16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor with a frequency of up to 5.1 GHz, equipped with integrated Radeon 780M graphics based on RDNA 3 architecture and an AI accelerator (NPU) with a performance of 39 TOPS (trillion operations per second).

The Acer Nitro Blaze 8 console offers 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM and an M.2 solid-state drive of the PCIe 4.0 standard with a capacity of up to 2 TB. The triggers and sticks of the console are equipped with Hall effect sensors. The device has one USB4 Type-C connector (40 Gbps), one USB 3.2 Type-C and one USB 3.2 Type-A, as well as a slot for MicroSD memory cards. In addition, the set-top box is equipped with a pair of 2 W speakers, two microphones and a 3.5 mm audio output. The console is powered autonomously by a 55 Wh battery. A 65W charger is included in the package. Acer Nitro Blaze 8 also claims support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The dimensions of the console are 305 × 134 × 22 mm, and the weight is 750 grams.

The Nitro Blaze 11 features removable joysticks, which makes it similar to the previously released Lenovo Legion Go console. Another feature of the Nitro Blaze 11 is its huge screen – the new product features a 10.95-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a brightness of 500 cd/m² and 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

The specifications of the Nitro Blaze 11 are generally similar to those of the Nitro Blaze 8. The Nitro Blaze 11 is powered by a Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM. The set-top box is equipped with an M.2 solid-state drive of the PCIe 4.0 standard with a capacity of up to 2 TB.

The sound subsystem, set of external connectors and network capabilities of the new product are the same as those of the younger model Nitro Blaze 8. The battery capacity of the Nitro Blaze 11 is the same 55 Wh, but the console comes with a more powerful 100 W charger. The Nitro Blaze 11 measures 364 x 171 x 15.9 mm and weighs 1050 grams.

The manufacturer did not disclose the cost of the new products.
