Farming simulator Stardew Valley from solo developer Eric Barone, better known as ConcernedApe, has reached a new sales peak ahead of 2025.
ConcernedApe does not boast about Stardew Valley’s results in press releases, but from time to time it updates the game’s sales information on its official website – new data dates back to December 2024.
As it became known, to date, sales of Stardew Valley worldwide have exceeded 41 million copies. The game’s website also provides the distribution of this indicator by target platforms.
Thus, 26 out of 41 million copies of Stardew Valley were sold on PC. Another 7.9 million copies were sold on Nintendo Switch. Thus, the remaining 7.1 million units come from the remaining consoles and mobile devices.
Let us remember that Stardew Valley reached 10 million copies sold in January 2020, 20 million copies were left behind in March 2022, and by the end of February 2024, on the eighth anniversary of the game, the figure exceeded 30 million units.
Thus, in the last 10 months alone, Stardew Valley has chalked up another 11 million copies sold—that’s more than a quarter of the game’s total sales in the first eight years since its release.
Stardew Valley debuted on February 26, 2016 on PC, and has since made its way to PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. Despite its venerable age by industry standards, the game continues to receive updates (including major ones).
