PlayStation 5 turned into a $2,750 laptop that roars like a plane

Modders from Notebook Review Studio have created a laptop that contains components from the Sony PlayStation 5 game console. We are talking about the BBook AI Original Edition device, the body of which is created using 3D printing, and a modified cooling system is used to dissipate heat.

Overall, the BBook AI Original Edition looks like a thick laptop, but since it contains components from the PlayStation 5, the device can only be used to run games designed for the Sony console. Despite the rather massive body, the device does not have a rechargeable battery. This means that in order to use the laptop, it must be connected to a power outlet. In addition, the case houses a fairly large cooling system that produces up to 71.3 dB of noise, which is significantly more than that of the PlayStation 5.

The BBook AI Original Edition matches the standard PlayStation 5 in terms of technical specifications. The device uses the same eight-core processor based on the Zen 2 architecture, combined with 16 GB of GDDR6 RAM and 825 GB of PCIe 4.0 storage in a more compact 2242 form factor (in PlayStation 5 2280 form factor drive is used).

Modders have enhanced the game console’s components with a 17.3-inch IPS display supporting a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. It uses a panel with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, a peak brightness of 400 cd/m² and DCI-P3 color space coverage of 100%. An HDMI 2.1 interface is provided for connecting external devices.

BBook AI Original Edition weighs 4321 g and its case thickness is 31.3 mm. It is not yet known whether the device will be available for purchase. However, modders estimated its cost at $2,750.
