Nvidia’s presence at the annual electronics industry show CES in Las Vegas at least includes a speech by company CEO and founder Jensen Huang, but closer to the start of the event other details of the planned activity became known. The video card manufacturer will hold a 50-hour party for gamers for the first time in almost a decade and a half.

As the resource ComputerBase.de notes, the last classic event of this kind took place in 2011 on board the American aircraft carrier USS Hornet, it was designated GeForce LAN 6 and was dedicated to computer game lovers. The new event planned by Nvidia for the first week of January is symbolically designated “GeForce LAN 50”, as the number in its name may refer to the new GeForce RTX 50 family of video cards, whose announcement is expected in early January. In addition, the number 50 also corresponds to the planned duration of this gaming party, which is designed for 50 hours of activity.

By half past five in the evening on January 4, local time, GeForce LAN 50 should start in Las Vegas, and it will end on January 6 at half past six in the evening. By that time, Nvidia CEO and President Jensen Huang should appear on the CES 2025 stage with his traditional report, following which a new series of video cards from this brand should be presented. By the way, synchronous parties for gamers will also be held in Berlin, Beijing and Taipei, so not only US residents will be able to take part in them. Given the organization of online broadcasts, a much wider range of observers will be able to empathize with the participants.
