Publisher tinyBuild and developers from the American studio Redemption Road Games showed a new gameplay trailer at the OTK Winter Games Expo show and clarified the release date for their medieval sandbox Kingmakers.
As a reminder, Kingmakers was officially unveiled in February and was still expected to launch in Early Access throughout the rest of 2024, but development has been delayed.
As it became known, early access for Kingmakers on Steam and Epic Games Store will open only in the first quarter of 2025, that is, from January to March. The reasons for the delay are not specified.
Let us remind you that according to the plot, in order to change the course of a bloody war and prevent the apocalypse, players must go 500 years into the past, to medieval England, with an arsenal of modern weapons.
The new Kingmakers gameplay trailer (embedded below) shows the player in a convertible ramming crowds of enemies and destructible buildings, tearing apart the environment with a grenade launcher, and watching the area be carpet-bombed.
They promise a new generation of AI, co-op for four, “an unprecedented level of realism of characters and battles,” the ability to personally take part in battles involving thousands of soldiers and give orders to troops from a bird’s eye view.
Although Kingmakers has not even entered Early Access yet, a live-action film based on the game is already being planned. The Hollywood production company Story Kitchen took over the creation of the film adaptation.
