GSC Game World has revealed when the first patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be released. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and what improvements it will include

The long-awaited post-apocalyptic open-world shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl turned out to be far from ideal in technical terms, but the developers from the GSC Game World studio have already outlined a plan for corrections.

As reported by GSC Game World on the Steam platform, the first post-release patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on PC and Xbox this week (that is, between November 25 and December 1).

The upcoming update will bring with it several requested fixes and improvements:

  • Eliminate crashes caused by errors in the memory allocation process and other problems;
  • They will fix story missions, freeing them from bugs that impede completion;
  • Will correct the prices of weapons with installed upgrades and the behavior of NPCs during emissions;
  • They will add missing facial animations, return lost NPCs to their place, eliminate visual bugs (such as heads torn from the body or clothes getting stuck);
  • Will increase the quality and stability of visual effects;
  • Will correct the display of tasks during dialogues, errors in texts and add missing hints for interactions.

GSC Game World also called the areas S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which will still receive improvements in the future are the dead zones of the analog sticks and the currently buggy A-Life system.

Let us remind you that A-Life coordinates and controls what people and animals do in the Zone, even when the player is not nearby. Since the release, users have been complaining about strange behavior of the system (in particular, related to the appearance of NPCs).

«We would like to assure you once again that we will make every effort to continuously improve S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. We are truly grateful for your feedback and suggestions,” concluded GSC Game World.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Microsoft Store, EGS), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass. Total sales of the game in the first two days after release exceeded 1 million copies.
